FPC and a number of other churches and organizations in Salida offer an array of emergency services to meet immediate needs for food, housing, etc. Everyone needs help and community support in life, and FPC is grateful to be a part of a network of churches and organizations that provide a safety net for those of us who otherwise may not have one. The following list includes many options for receiving different kinds of help in a time of need. 


The Food Pantry:

Where: First Presbyterian Church (7 Poncha Blvd)

When: Every Thursday 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Note: If you are in need of food, you can always stop by the church during office hours (Mon-Thurs 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and we can help out.


Stone Soup:

Where: Salida First Presbyterian Church (7 Poncha Blvd)

When: Every Monday from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

What: A soup lunch open to anyone!


Free Showers:

Where: First Methodist Church (228 E 4th St)

When: Every Monday and Thursday  from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. (no appointment needed--just show up)


Laundry Love:

Where: Salida Laundromat (1410 E St)

When: Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 8:00-9:00 a.m. (be there before 9:00)

What: Free laundry services.


Winter Shelters:

When: The winter shelters are open every night from 8:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m. starting Nov. 1st and ending April 30th. For more information, call FPC's office at 719-539-6422, or check out Chaffee County Hospitality's website.

For Women: The winter shelter for women is at First Methodist Church (corner of 4th and D St)

For Men: The winter shelter for men is at at First Christian Church (corner of 4th and D St)

Note: First Presbyterian Church (7 Poncha Blvd) also offers tents, sleeping bags, and other necessities to those who are living out in the winter elements.


Firewood:

Call: Call FPC at 719-539-6422 to get set up with firewood.


Energy Outreach Colorado:

Where: First Presbyterian Church (7 Poncha Blvd)

When: Every Tuesdsay starting at 1:30 p.m.

What: EOC offers energy assistance for overdue gas and electric bills. To receive help, please call 719-539-6422 to set up an appointment. 


SOS:

Where: First Presbyterian Church (7 Poncha Blvd)

When: Every Thursday Starting at 1:30 p.m.

What: SOS offers an array of services and assistance for many different situations. Please call 719-539-6422 to set up an appointment and to receive the appropriate paperwork.


Sol Vista Crisis Hotline:

What: Sol Vista offers emergency mental health care and resources. If you are in need of these services, please call 719-539-6502.


National Suicide Prevention Hotline:

Please call 800-273-8255 if you are having thoughts of suicide.
