Please join us for services on this special week as we remember Christ's journey to the cross:

Maundy Thursday, April 18 worship at 6:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church (4th & D st.). We'll gather this evening with our Methodist friends to remember Christ's last supper with his disciples by hearing his command in scripture to love one another, and by celebrating communion together.

Good Friday Journey to the Cross: Friday, April 19 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. our church will be open for an interactive prayer walk that will take you through the events of those last days and hours of Jesus' life. These are not the traditional stations but somewhat revised. Come at any time from 3:00-6:00 and walk through the stations at your own pace. Enter the church at the upper doors to the old sanctuary off Poncha Blvd.

Good Friday worship: Friday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian. Gather in worship as we hear the scriptures of the crucifixion and reflect on the death of Jesus.

Soul Food Reading Group's September Book

by: Hilary Downs

08/16/2018

Join us this September as we read a book that is good for the soul. We'll be tackling The Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith.

Smith invites us to see and know God as Jesus did--as good and beautiful. To help us along our way, Smith provides questions for reflection in each chapter so it's best read with a journal at your side to jot down your thoughts.

Because of this, we'll meet three times in September and once in October to discuss what we've read.

Thursday, September 13 we'll discuss chapters 1-2 (6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall).

Come one, come all for 24 hours of fun and service with your church family!

Friday, August 31st we'll head to Hooper Pool to camp, swim, and enjoy each other's company.

Saturday, September 1st we'll spend the morning gleaning the fields of the San Luis Valley to benefit the food bank in Alamosa that is connected with La Puente Home.

Who can come? Everyone is invited! Young, old, or somewhere in the middle--this is for you. Parents--bring your kids of all ages. We'll be pulling carrots or digging potatoes--we don't know yet. As long as your little ones (or bigger ones) don't mind…

As long as your little ones (or bigger ones) don't mind getting a little dirty, they'll be fine. Don't have kids or kids at home anymore? You are welcome, too! Bring your spouse, bring a friend, bring yourself. We'd love to have you join us.

Please RSVP for camping by August 17. If you're not going to camp and just want to come to glean on Saturday, please RSVP by August 26.

For more information and to get signed up to join us, please contact the church office at 719-539-6422
